To Tweet Or Not To Tweet? That Is The Twitter

Are you a Twitter addict?

Are you a Twitter addict?

The Really: What does Twitter really do?

If you haven’t heard of Twitter by now then you probably don’t know what a blog is either really?!?!  Now that we’re passed that we pose this question to you.  Do you use Twitter?  If so, why?  How often?

We here at The Blog Really do use Twitter.  We have found it to be a way to do many things with only 140 characters.  For instance, when we post a new story to The Blog Really, a tweet gets automatically generated and sent out on our Twitter account to alert our followers on Twitter.  Our apologies for the shameless plug.  From there, that very same tweet gets forwarded to our The Blog Really Facebook account to alert readers there too.  You may not see the need for this but we get hundreds and thousands of hits per week to our web page from a tiny message that started from this simple “Tweet.”

Twitter helped expose the state of Iran as it was going through presidential election turmoil.  In that particular instance, CNN was getting their news updates from correspondents and Iranian citizens in the streets who were all using… Twitter.  I like to think of Twitter as the text message of the world wide web.  Like text messages on cell phones, Twitter is short and sweet.  It is used to pass along information and to update people.   Paris Hilton, Shaq and Aston all use Twitter on a daily basis.  Where else can you here such candid remarks from these super stars as Shaq saying, ” IM NOT DAT SMART, I GOT BLIP HOW DO I GET THE SONG ON BLIP. OK I CANT READ PEOPLE, SHHHHHHH, IM ONEALITTERATE LOL” or from Paris Hilton last night, “Going to bed. Tweet dreams xoxo.”

So again we ask, to Tweet or not to Tweet?  That is the question…

PS… Obama uses twitter

  1. Twitter is not simply status updates! Twitter is a venue where you can express your brand or yourself in way to captivate and socially interact with your followers. Twitter, in essence, is really about creating online relationships with your followers.
