The signing of Ken Griffey Jr. helps the Mariners do one thing, SELL TICKETS!!! I have been around the Mariners for a few years now and I can tell you one thing, they stink up MLB year after year. The worst thing that ever happened to the Mariners was winning 116 games the year after they let A-Rod go to the free agency market. One may say I am making a silly remark but I ask one question. What did winning 116 games get you? I have one answer, a first round playoff exit! Winning 116 games is a major feat but winning playoff games is where it’s really at.
